"London, Paris, Amsterdam and Wien"
As early on as semester 6 of my law degree, I knew that I wanted to work in tax law and I was convinced that I would join an accounting firm after graduation in 2016. I chose specialization courses, did internships at two Big 4 accounting firms and wrote my thesis in tax law. Nevertheless, I ended up at a law firm thanks to the timing of DLA Piper advertising a position in the tax law group, combined with a recruitment process that convinced me that I would be a good fit for the firm - and I still feel that way!
In my almost five years at the firm, I've had the opportunity to attend DLA Piper training courses in London (x2!), Paris and Amsterdam, as well as a two-week secondment in DLA Piper's Vienna office. I was lucky enough to be there when the city's equivalent of Octoberfest was going on, and Vienna really came alive in a folk festival that was unique to take part in.
