DLA Piper assisted SEB Greentech Venture Capital in connection with their investment in the Swedish PropTech company Metry.

Real estate accounts for a large share of global energy use and the world's climate emissions, up to 40% according to the UN's environmental program UNEP, and 75% of buildings in Europe are classified as inefficient with great potential to save energy.

SEB Greentech Venture Capital invests in green technology, focusing on innovations that have a significant effect on reducing greenhouse gas emissions or preventing the planetary boundaries from being exceeded.

Metry, founded in 2012 by Joel Torkelsson and Magnus Hornef, helps property owners to use energy more efficiently by collecting data.

The team from DLA Piper mainly consisted of Gabriel Liska, Jacqueline Björklund and Mikael Moreira.
