Magnus Oskarsson named new managing partner at DLA Piper in Sweden
On May 1, 2024, Magnus Oskarsson will become DLA Piper’s new managing partner in Sweden. Magnus is currently a partner in the Stockholm office's Corporate group. He will succeed Peter Näslund, who´s been leading the firm forward for the past seven years and will continue as a partner at the firm.
Magnus joined DLA Piper in 2008 and he works mainly on capital raising and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
“I’m proud that I will lead DLA Piper's operations in Sweden. As a partner, this is the strongest vote of confidence you can receive from your colleagues. Under Peter's leadership, we’ve made fantastic progress and grown from a medium-sized firm to become the leading global law firm in Sweden, with almost 250 employees. I look forward to continuing the journey to becoming Sweden’s most modern law firm, being a really good workplace for our employees and the obvious choice for our clients,” says Magnus Oskarsson.
DLA Piper is a forward-thinking law firm and during Peter Näslund's time the firm has moved to new modern premises at Sergels Torg. The firm has also climbed the ranking tables and in recent years has been in the top tier of law firms that have completed the most corporate transactions in Sweden and globally. Nordic and international cooperation has also intensified through joint initiatives at Nordic and international level for all employees.
“I’m pleased to hand over the responsibility to Magnus. As a very capable and well-liked member of the team with a long history at DLA Piper, Magnus is the perfect fit to shape the business going forward,” says Peter Näslund, managing partner at DLA Piper in Sweden.
We live in a changing world where the legal industry is facing new challenges, a world where companies need to develop their business in line with digitalization to ensure sustainability and profitability.
“It’s an interesting time for the legal industry, as we have said for several years now, and it will continue to be a constant process of change for all firms. DLA Piper stands strong and we’ve invested in digitalization and new systems, and our Legal Tech team is probably one of the strongest in the country. A key to success is to continue to work closely with our clients to understand how their situation is changing and to be part of the solution,” Magnus concludes.
