The Body Shop Svenska Aktiebolag in bankruptcy

The Body Shop Svenska Aktiebolag, corporate identity number 556235-8928 ("Body Shop") was declared into bankruptcy by the Stockholm District Court on 23 April 2024. Attorney Jonas Premfors has been appointed as the bankruptcy trustee. 

Update

The bankruptcy estate of the Body Shop has continued the business operations in Sweden for a month following the bankruptcy. However, the stores are now closed, and the staff have been relieved from their duties. The target has always been to find a new franchisee in Sweden who could take over the business operations of the Body Shop. Unfortunately, this has not been a viable route as the parent company is put in administration in the UK: The Body Shop in administration: information for employees and creditors - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

In Sweden, there are currently around 20 stores which are operated by individual franchisees, and these are not directly affected by the bankruptcy of Body Shop (i.e. The Body Shop Svenska Aktiebolag).
