Miljana Bigović is an Associate with the Dispute Resolution group of DLA Piper Sweden. She is a graduate of Stockholm University (LL.M. in International Commercial Arbitration Law) and University of Novi Sad (LL.M. in International Investment Protection and Banking Law, summa cum laude), passing her bar exam in Vojvodina, Serbia. Miljana represents individual and corporate clients in international arbitration proceedings seated in Sweden and abroad.

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Miljana worked in the arbitration group of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr in London and as a research assistant at Stockholm University. Miljana also holds lectures on the constitution of arbitral tribunals within Stockholm University's summer school - international arbitration law module, and has been coaching the award-winning Stockholm University's Vis Moot teams since 2019. During her legal education, she received many prestigious awards for her academic achievements, including the title of valedictorian of the University of Novi Sad and scholarships of the Stockholm University and the Swedish Institute.

Represented a Swiss company in a EUR 15 million SCC arbitration seated in Stockholm against a Lithuanian company working with financial derivatives;
Represented one of the largest green-energy suppliers in Europe in an SCC arbitration seated in Stockholm regarding a EUR 170 million construction project in the north of Sweden
Represented a Danish company in an SCC arbitration seated in Stockholm filing a lost profit claim under Romanian law concerning a multi-million-euro wind farm project in Tulcea, Romania;
Represented a Swedish subsidiary of an Italian company specialized in renewables in a dispute with a Swedish wind turbine manufacturer regarding an extension of time (EoT) claim under an EUR 120 million EPC contract;
Represented a Canadian company specialized in forestry in a Stockholm-seated SCC arbitration with Swedish law governing the issues of alleged defects in a packaging machine produced by a Swedish manufacturer;
Advised a funder on the issues of enforcement of an EUR 150 million arbitral award rendered in the investment arbitration case PL Holdings S.a.r.l. v Republic of Poland in Sweden;
Represented two Finnish companies in an SCC arbitration governed by Swedish law in a dispute arising out of an M&A transaction;
Represented a leading US-based cryptocurrency company in an arbitration before the SCC concerning the sale of property in Sweden with Swedish law governing the merits of the case;
Involved in a preliminary assessment of an investor's possibility to commence investment arbitration proceedings against the Republic of Georgia before ICSID.
Active in the group's international business development practice: established the DLA Piper Global Vis Pre-Moot in Stockholm, translated the SCC Arbitration Rules and SCC Rules for Expedited Arbitration to Serbian language.
