DLA Piper has advised the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) with their first investment in Swedish fintech company Klarna.
Klarna is a leader in the swift from credit cards to "buy now pay later" (BNPL). The funding will primarily be used to expand Klarna’s market position in the United States.
The DLA Piper team which advised on the transaction mainly consisted of Mikael Moreira, Mikael Hagström, Gabriel Liska, Alf-Peter Svensson, Susanne Seiler Lemon, Jennie Nilsson, Astrid Bohlin, Maja Jerreling and Jacqueline Björklund.
